The ruling on a wife not spending her salary on her household

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
My wife insists on keeping her salary and holds it in the bank, giving some of it to her father. What is your opinion on such behavior? And is her salary her property?

Answer:
Your wife’s salary is her property, and her money is her property. You have no right to any of it, unless she is pleased to give you something; in that case, there is no harm, as Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) said:
But if they give up willingly to you anything of it, then take it in satisfaction and ease.فَإِنْ طِبْنَ لَكُمْ عَنْ شَيْءٍ مِنْهُ نَفْسًا فَكُلُوهُ هَنِيئًا مَرِيئًا
[Surat al-Nisa: 4]. If she is pleased to give you something from her salary or her original wealth, there is no harm. Otherwise, her money is hers, and her salary is hers. She may give to her parents and give charity from it.
So if she gives you something willingly, otherwise fear Allah, and do not attach yourself to her money. Be independent of her, unless you and she agree on something regarding it; in that case, there is no harm. If you and she agree on half the salary, or a quarter of the salary, then the settlement between you is permissible.
