The Verses and Surahs Used for Ruqyah on the Sick

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner, Abu Abdullah, says: The Qur'an contains healing for people and mercy. We hope you will mention the verses that it is prescribed to recite over the sick person, the number of times, and the method of blowing. May Allah reward you with good; because we have a person afflicted with an illness and we want to recite over him?

Answer:
The entire Qur'an is healing, from its beginning to its end. And if one recites al-Fatihah, it is the greatest surah in the Qur'an... Repeat it as the Companions did for the one who was bitten when they passed by him in one of the Arab tribes. Some of the Companions recited Surat al-Fatihah over him and repeated it, so Allah healed him. If one recites Surat al-Fatihah and recites with it Ayat al-Kursi or some of the other verses, it is all good. And if one recites
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قل هو الله أحد
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
and
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreakقل أعوذ برب الفلق
[Al-Falaq 113:1]
and
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,قل أعوذ برب الناس
[An-Nas 114:1]
three times, that is also good and among the causes of healing. The entire Qur'an is healing if one recites from it what Allah makes easy, from al-Baqarah... from Aal 'Imran... from al-Nisa... from al-Ma'idah, from the rest of the Qur'an, it is all healing, as Allah the Exalted said:
Say, "It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure."قُلْ هُوَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا هُدًى وَشِفَاءٌ
[Surat al-Furqan: 44], and He the Exalted said:
And We send down of the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believersوَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
[Surat al-Isra: 82], meaning: it is all healing. If one seeks out some of the verses and recites them, it is all good. But among the most important things to recite are al-Fatihah, Ayat al-Kursi, and
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قل هو الله أحد
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
, and the two Mu'awwidhat surahs; these are among the most important things to recite over the sick person. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you and bless you.
