Specifying Certain Verses for Ruqyah
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q 2: We observe that reciting certain verses affects the patient, so should we recite these verses even though they were not reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), nor from his Companions, nor from the righteous Salaf that they used to recite them over the patient, or should we be content with what was explicitly and authentically reported?
A 2 : The Noble Qur'an in its entirety is guidance and healing. Allah the Exalted said:[Fussilat 41:44] , and He the Exalted said: [Al-Isra 17:82] . The word (min) in this verse indicates the genus, meaning: the genus of the Qur'an contains healing and mercy, and it is not (min) for partiality. Accordingly, seeking healing is prescribed with all the verses of the Qur'an. This does not preclude that there are specific verses that have a special virtue and effect, as the authentic hadiths indicate. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
A 2 : The Noble Qur'an in its entirety is guidance and healing. Allah the Exalted said:
Say, "It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure."
قُلْ هُوَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا هُدًى وَشِفَاءٌAnd We send down of the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believers
وَنُنَـزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
