Advice to expatriates not to prolong their absence from their families

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A message was received by the program from one of the female listeners, stating: Her husband has been away from her for more than seven years, and as of the time of writing this message, he has not arrived. She asks for your Eminence to advise expatriates regarding their wives. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
Yes, I advise all expatriates, wherever they are, not to prolong their travel away from their wives, and to strive to return quickly. This is because a woman remaining without a husband entails a great danger to her honor, to her husband, to her children, and to society as a whole. It is prescribed for the believer to take this matter into consideration and not to prolong his absence from his wife and children. Rather, the absence should be short, especially in this era where evils have multiplied, knowledge has decreased, mindfulness of Allah has diminished, and ignorance, evil, and corruption have prevailed.
So the believer should fear Allah regarding his family and not prolong his absence, or he should move them with him to the place where he is, and not leave them alone. Either he moves them if the place where he is is safe and there is no danger, or else he should hasten to end his absence and not delay. He should work in a country near them and in their country so that he can reach them from time to time without hardship or danger.
So the result is that it is obligatory for husbands to fear Allah regarding their wives and to beware of neglecting them, for in that lies a great danger for everyone.
And 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to write to the soldiers not to delay more than six months from their wives; because of what he knew (may Allah be pleased with him) of the danger in that. So how would it be if he saw the situation and the times today?
So what should be done is that the absence should not be prolonged, not even six months, but rather two or three months, or less than that. And if it is possible for him to come to them from time to time in the shortest time and return to his work, if that is possible, then that is the most cautious course and what should be done. And if it is possible to move them to his place, if moving them does not involve danger, then that is better and more cautious as well.
So the result is that it should be that the husband does not prolong his absence and hastens to return to his family, so that the calamity which is feared does not occur. There is no power and no strength except with Allah. Yes.
