Ruling on a woman shortening her hair without imitating men

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is cutting the hair and shortening it like a man's hair, but without the intention of imitating men, considered forbidden?

Answer:
It is better for a woman to leave her hair long; because it is beauty for her, so the best and most appropriate for her is to leave it and not cut it, rather let it remain as beauty and adornment for her. But if she takes some of it, or lightens it, not with the intention of imitating disbelieving women or men, but because it is long, so she lightens it, then there is no blame on her. It is established that the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), after he passed away, took from their heads... they cut their heads to lighten them.
So the conclusion is: lightening it is permissible, but leaving it for beauty and adornment is better and more appropriate. And if she cuts some of it, let that be without the intention of imitating disbelieving women, or imitating men, but with the intention of lightening it or for adornment for her husband if he is pleased with that. As for her, if he forbids her, she has no right to disobey her husband. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
