The Obligation of Advising Among Muslim Women

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We move on to another letter and another topic. The letter is from one of the female listeners, who says (Maryam . N. A. M). Our sister has colleagues in the college whom she describes with somewhat harsh terms, O Shaykh. She suffers greatly from observing their conditions, and she asks for your guidance.

Answer:
You, O sister in Allah, must advise your sisters and the students who study under you, and ask Allah for their success and guidance. This is what is within your power. It is established from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
The religion is sincere adviceالدين النصيحة
. To whom, O Messenger of Allah? He said:
To Allah, to His Book, To His Messenger, and to the leaders of the Muslims and their masses.لله ولكتابه ولرسوله ولأئمة المسلمين وعامتهم
Sahih Muslim 55a
This includes men and women, teachers and students, male and female. So you must advise and direct toward good. And if you have the ability to discipline those who deserve discipline, such as your daughter and your students, and the like, then do so. And Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear. And He says (Glorified and Exalted is He):
So fear Allah as much as you are ableفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[Surat al-Taghabun: 16].
And if it is possible to bring the matter of some of the girls to their awliya (close friends of Allah) so that they may carry out the discipline, guidance, and enforcement of the truth, that is also part of enjoining good and forbidding evil.
So you must fear Allah, and you must continue advising, calling, and directing toward good. And you should supplicate to the Lord (Glorified and Exalted is He) for their success in your prayer and in all your times, for this is what Allah benefits with. The supplication of a believer for his brother, and the supplication of a believing woman for her brother or sister in Allah, behind their backs, is among the greatest acts of excellence, and it is among the causes of the supplication being answered. Yes.
