A Guiding Address to Women
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner : May Allah preserve you, Your Eminence! The Muslim woman is targeted by her enemies. Is there a guiding word for our Muslim sisters?
Answer:
The Shaykh : Yes. We advise all our Muslim sisters to fear Allah, to cooperate in righteousness and piety, to maintain modesty and wear the hijab, and to avoid exposing themselves and displaying their beauty. This is obligatory for all Muslim women: to be reserved, to strive for chastity, and to stay away from the causes of fitnah (trial, discord or temptation), as Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said: [Al-Ahzab: 33].
The Shaykh : And He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: [Al-Ahzab: 53]. And He (the Exalted) said: [Al-Ahzab: 59]. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 444.
The Shaykh : Therefore, it is obligatory for women to cover themselves, to wear the hijab, and not to wear revealing clothing or perfume that is noticeable to men in the markets. One must be cautious of all this. Rather, she should wear non-revealing clothes, be covered, and not be perfumed when she goes out to the market. All of this is required of a woman to stay away from fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) and to strive for safety. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you, O Shaykh.

And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance. And establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger
The Shaykh : And He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said:
And when you ask [his wives] for something, ask them from behind a partition. That is purer for your hearts and their hearts.
O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused
Whoever (woman) fumigates herself with perfume should not join us in the 'Isha'
The Shaykh : Therefore, it is obligatory for women to cover themselves, to wear the hijab, and not to wear revealing clothing or perfume that is noticeable to men in the markets.
