Question:
Our brother also asks and says: You also guide people regarding the Shari'ah-prescribed hijab, may Allah reward you?
The Shaykh:
Yes, the entire woman is 'awrah (the part of the body that must be covered), the whole of her is 'awrah, but she must strive to cover herself and avoid the fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) of men with a sufficient covering hijab, for her face and her body all together; because she is entirely 'awrah, as Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: : [Al-Ahzab:53], and He did not exclude anything, except what occurred... the niqab (the face veil)... the hadith of Ibn 'Umar in the two Sahihs... indeed in Sahih al-Bukhari.
And likewise His saying (Exalted and Majestic is He) in Surat al-Nur: [Al-Nur:31]... the verse, yes.
