The Method of Rinsing the Mouth and Sniffing Water into the Nose

Rinsing the mouth and sniffing water into the nose, are they done at the same time, or is each done separately?

Answer:
The Sunnah is to do both together, rinsing the mouth and sniffing water into the nose with a single handful of water. This is the Sunnah with a single handful: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would rinse his mouth and sniff water into his nose with a single handful, three times." If one takes a separate handful for rinsing the mouth and a separate handful for sniffing water into the nose, there is no blame on him.
