The amount that establishes prohibition in breastfeeding

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner says in his final question: What is the definitive opinion regarding the amount that establishes prohibition in breastfeeding? Please mention the evidence for this, Your Eminence.

Answer:
What is established in this matter is that the amount is the milk that reaches the stomach. If the milk reaches the stomach in every suckling, that is sufficient, and it is not limited to a specific quantity. When a woman knows that she has breastfed him, and the milk reached his stomach in five sucklings or more at five different times, there is no harm; he becomes her son, and the rulings of breastfeeding apply to him, even if the amount was small. If she breastfed him and the milk went to his stomach and she released the breast, then she breastfed him again at that time or on another day, until she completed five, and she is certain that the milk goes to his stomach—that he is truly breastfeeding—so that the milk goes to his stomach five times in one day, or in several days, or more than five times, he becomes her son. Her brothers become his maternal uncles, and her father becomes his grandfather, and so on. The ruling of breastfeeding is established for him based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Breast-feeding makes unlawful (for marriages) the same things that blood tie make unlawful.يحرم من الرضاع ما يحرم من النسب
Sunan Ibn Majah 1937Sahih (Darussalam)
.
The Qur'an also indicates the basis of this. Allah the Exalted said:
your [milk] mothers who nursed you, your sisters through nursingوَأُمَّهَاتُكُمُ اللَّاتِي أَرْضَعْنَكُمْ وَأَخَوَاتُكُمْ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ
[Surat al-Nisa: 23]. Therefore, it is required that the milk reaching the stomach is confirmed. The nursing woman knows this in five instances in a day, or in a night, or in multiple days, while he is within the two-year period before being weaned. Yes.
