The ruling on performing tawaf from outside the Haram

Question:
One of the listening brothers from the Republic of Mali, residing in Riyadh, says: My master! I have a question regarding one of the very important acts of worship, which is how to perform tawaf around the Ka'bah for 'Umrah. I came to visit the Noble Makkah to perform 'Umrah, and because I was ignorant of the correct method of tawaf, I performed tawaf outside the Haram and circled from the outside. Therefore, doubt entered me regarding the validity of my tawaf after I saw the Sacred Ka'bah. So I asked about the validity of my tawaf after I entered and performed sa'y between al-Safa and al-Marwah, and they told me that my tawaf is not valid. So I present my question to you, and I hope you will inform me about it. May Allah guide you.
Answer:
First, my brother, it is good of you to say, when asking your brothers: "My brother" or "So-and-so" or "Abu So-and-so" instead of "My master." When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was told:Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 211, and because this phrase may cause arrogance in a person's heart, pride, and elevation of self, you should address your brother among the responsible scholars or your brothers the students: "My brother," address him with this, or "Abu So-and-so" or "So-and-so."
As for your question about your tawaf around the Ka'bah outside the Sacred Mosque, this does not suffice for you if it is conceivable, if you can conceive of this happening to you. And I consider it unlikely that you could conceive of this, that you performed tawaf from outside the Sacred Mosque entirely; this is something strange. If this did happen to you, then it does not suffice, and you must perform tawaf. The sa'y suffices as long as you performed sa'y from the inside; it sufficed for you, because the Messenger (peace be upon him) was asked, and a man said to him:Mishkat al-Masabih 2658.
So the correct view is that if a person performs sa'y before tawaf, especially out of ignorance or forgetfulness, that suffices for him according to the correct view. And you must repeat the tawaf from inside, around the Ka'bah, or in the corridors if there is a need for the corridors due to the crowd, or on the upper levels above, performing tawaf around the House from above out of necessity, such as the crowd during Hajj. All of this is permissible. But from outside the mosque entirely, this does not suffice, and you must repeat it if you did this as you mentioned in your question. And Allah knows best.
The presenter: So, is tawaf in what is called the courtyard of the Ka'bah not a condition?
The Shaykh: It is not a condition. If he performed tawaf in the corridors or on the upper level, that suffices. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah bless you.

Usama b. Sharik said: I went out with God’s messenger to perform the pilgrimage, and the people were coming to him. One would say, “Messenger of God, I ran between as-Safa and al-Marwa before going round the Ka'ba,” or “I did something after its proper time, or “I did something before its proper time.” He would reply, “No harm will come, except to one who defames a Muslim acting wrongfully. That is the one who will be in trouble and will perish.” Abu Dawud transmitted it.
