Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He inquires about the noble verse in the saying of Allah the Exalted:
nor upon the lame constraintليس عَلَى الأَعْرَجِ حَرَجٌ
[Al-Nur: 61] What is the meaning of this verse?

Answer:
It means: in jihad
There is not upon the blind [any] constraint nor upon the lame constraint nor upon the ill constraintلَيْسَ عَلَى الأَعْمَى حَرَجٌ وَلا عَلَى الأَعْرَجِ حَرَجٌ وَلا عَلَى الْمَرِيضِ حَرَجٌ
[Al-Nur: 61] None of these people have any blame on them; they are not required to fight. The lame, the blind, and the sick are not able to fight. The lame person is too weak to catch up with the enemy or to flee from the enemy when the need arises. The sick person is the same, and the blind person is the same. So, there is no blame on them regarding jihad; they are not required to fight, yes.
