Is it permissible to go out with the Tablighi Jama'ah while avoiding the religious innovations and errors they commit?

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace and the mercy of Allah.

The questioner : , Shaykh Muhammad Nasir.

The Shaykh : Bring it.

The questioner : As for me, I have a specific question. I went out with the Tablighi Jama'ah for forty days.

The Shaykh : What Allah willed!

The questioner : Then I left, meaning it has been seven months.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : So now, I find myself longing for their environment.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : And I want to know the ruling regarding going out with them while avoiding the religious innovations or errors that occur with them. Is there anything on me?

The Shaykh : No, you cannot avoid them. Tell me what you benefited from in the forty days?

The questioner : As for morals, I was not praying properly before. The Tablighi Jama'ah was the cause of my guidance.

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah.

The questioner : Praise be to Allah.

The Shaykh: All right.

The questioner : I let my beard grow.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : And I wore the thobe.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : And I wore the turban, and my morals improved.

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah.

The questioner : Praise be to Allah. Then I left, meaning I actually saw religious innovations, or I committed to the Salafi group here with us, but the environment is not supportive, and the Tablighi is lacking a little for me.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : I want to work with them while avoiding [the errors], or go out with them while avoiding [the errors]. Is there anything on me?

The Shaykh : Do not go out with them. Attend their circles and lessons, then adhere to the correct Sunnah, because they have no knowledge.

The questioner : Well, there is a book by Shaykh Abu Bakr al-Jazairi, "Al-Qawl al-Baligh fi Jama'at al-Tabligh," meaning he supports them.

The Shaykh : What do you have to do with al-Jazairi? Either he does not know them, or he knows them but sees them as better than others, and they are better than any other parties other than the Salafis.

The questioner : Well, as for the errors, how are the errors with them?

The Shaykh : The errors, my brother, are in the creed, in the Sunnahs, and in religious innovation. They do not pray the prayer according to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, and their words that are delivered are not according to the Book and the Sunnah. This is a very broad matter.

The questioner : As for the six attributes.

The Shaykh : That is empty talk. This is empty talk. The six attributes are the attributes of Allah, which are not limited.

The questioner : These are not the attributes of Allah.

The Shaykh : The attributes of Allah are not counted and not limited.

The questioner : Yes, exactly. As for the attributes, they are not the attributes of Allah. They have a methodology regarding the attributes, meaning the realization of the testimony that there is no deity but Allah. The first attribute they work toward.

The Shaykh : My brother, they do not understand what the meaning of "There is no deity but Allah" is. May Allah guide you.

The questioner : They have a methodology that you can know: prayer with humility and submission, with knowledge and remembrance, and honoring the companion.

The Shaykh : Yes, yes. These are things known among Muslims. As for the unknown things, they do not seek them. They do not research tawhid, the oneness of lordship, the oneness of worship, and the oneness of the names and attributes. They do not research the exaltation of Allah above His creation and His not being likened to His creations, and so on. They do not research
offer your prayers in the way you saw me offering my prayers صلُّوا كما رأيتموني أصلِّي

,
Take from me your rituals of Hajj; for I do not know whether I will meet you after this year of mine. وخذوا عنِّي مناسككم ؛ فإني لا أدري هل ألقاكم بعد عامي هذا
, and so on. The research into this is long, so we advise you to sit with the Salafis and learn the religion from them, and do not go out, neither for three days nor for forty. Are you married?

The questioner: No, no.

The Shaykh : I am not married.

The questioner : I am studying at the College of Da'wah and Principles of Religion.

The Shaykh : Do you not have parents?

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Do you have parents?

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Did they give you permission to go out for forty days?

The questioner : Yes, they gave permission.

The Shaykh : And who serves them in your absence?

The questioner : I have two brothers.

The Shaykh : Older.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Good, if Allah wills. So, focus on your studies and expand your correct Islamic culture in light of the Book and the Sunnah and the methodology of the righteous predecessors. And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.

The questioner : Shaykh Nasir, a little, if you please.
