Ruling on Producing Islamic Films as an Alternative to Defective Ones

Question:
What is your opinion, Your Eminence, on producing films that carry Islamic ideas to fill the existing void, which is currently being exploited by malicious films?

Answer:
By Allah, I have been asked about this more than once, and the statement that this is permissible is a strong position; so that other malicious films are prevented, or so that this leads to their reduction, fighting them, and resisting them.
So, Islamic films that present to people what benefits them in their religion, encourage them to good, and call them to the truth, so that they are used to fight malicious films; I do not know of any harm in them; because dire necessity has called for them; because people are in pressing need now of righteous films that fight the malicious films with which people are afflicted.
