The Manner of Ghusl and an Explanation of Its Types

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner, a female student in high school who used the initials (A. S. M.) as her code, asks: “Your Eminence, what is ghusl? What are its rulings? What is its method? And does neglecting it or its invalidity affect the performance of prayer or fasting?”

Answer:
Ghusl is pouring water over the entire body. This is called ghusl. When a person pours water over his entire body, from his head to his feet, it is called ghusl. It is obligatory due to janabah. Likewise, it is obligatory for a woman when her menstruation ends and she sees purity. Similarly, it is obligatory due to post-natal bleeding when the blood stops and she sees purity. These are obligatory ghusls.
As for the ghusl for Friday, it is recommended. It is recommended for a man to perform ghusl when he goes to the Friday prayer. The ghusl after cupping and the ghusl for washing the dead are recommended ghusls. As for the obligatory ghusl: the ghusl for janabah for a man, and for a woman, the ghusl for menstruation and post-natal bleeding; these are obligatory ghusls. Yes.
