Is the ghusl for janabah like the ghusl for Friday or the ghusl for cleanliness?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Abu Fayd al-Atiibi from Riyadh asks: Is the ghusl for janabah like the ghusl for Friday or the ghusl for cleanliness?

The Shaykh : He should say: Is the ghusl for Friday like the ghusl for janabah?

The questioner : Yes, indeed.

The Shaykh : Because this is more appropriate. The ghusl for janabah and the ghusl for Friday are the same in the sense that when a person cleans his private parts from the effect of janabah, he performs a complete wudu, then pours water over his head three times until it is saturated, then washes the rest of his body. This is the ghusl from janabah. The ghusl on Friday is like it, and the ghusl when entering ihram for Hajj or 'Umrah is like it.
And if he performs ghusl from janabah and limits himself to that, it suffices for him regarding wudu afterwards. But we must note that rinsing the mouth and sniffing water into the nose are obligatory in wudu and obligatory in ghusl; they are necessary. So if he performs ghusl with the intention of removing janabah, including rinsing the mouth and sniffing water into the nose—which are part of the ghusl, but I mentioned them because some people think that ghusl does not include rinsing the mouth or sniffing water into the nose—then it suffices for him regarding wudu, even if he immerses himself in a pool of water and then comes out, having immersed himself with the intention of ghusl for janabah, then comes out and rinses his mouth and sniffs water into his nose. Let him go and pray, because ghusl for janabah permits prayer. Allah Blessed and Exalted is He said:
O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
And Allah the Exalted did not mention anything in janabah except purification, which is ghusl, and did not mention wudu. This indicates that ghusl from janabah removes both the minor and major state of ritual impurity. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.
