The ruling on marrying a girl who does not pray

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible to marry a girl who does not pray?

Answer:
It is permissible to marry her to someone like her who does not pray; because they are all considered disbelievers for abandoning the prayer, so they are equal in disbelief. If a man who does not pray marries her, there is no blame on him. However, if a man who prays marries her, the correct view is that the marriage contract is not valid. Rather, they must renew the marriage contract if they repent to Allah and return to Him . As for if neither of them prays, the marriage contract is valid, and they must repent to Allah and hasten to perform the prayer, and their marriage is valid; because when the people embraced Islam, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) did not ask them about their marriages, but he left them in their marriages. However, if a man marries a woman knowing that she does not pray while he prays, it is not valid. Or the reverse: he does not pray and she prays; likewise, it is not permissible. If she knows that he does not pray, it is not lawful for her to take him, and likewise, it is not lawful for him to take her if she does not pray. If the contract has taken place, it is obligatory that it be renewed and redone. If each one desires the other, it must be renewed if the one who abandoned the prayer repents and returns to Allah, then there is no harm. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
