It appears—may Allah know best—that the cause of that is turning away and heedlessness, for most of creation is heedless of that for which they were created.
And with that: the scarcity of the one who alerts, the scarcity of the caller, and the scarcity of the one who clarifies and guides. For this reason, the gap widened, the separation between people became great, and its scope expanded; due to the abundance of distractions from reflecting on that for which the servant was created, due to the abundance of those who assist in the causes of heedlessness, and due to the scarcity of those who guide and direct.
