The Practical, Theoretical, and Applied Methods of Repentance

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 20941 )
Q 1: What are the practical, theoretical, and applied methods of repentance ?
A 1: Repentance is prescribed as an obligation when a person commits something that necessitates repentance, such as leaving an obligatory act or committing a forbidden act. Repentance from the rights of Allah has three conditions: regret for the sin, abandoning it, and resolving not to return to it. If it is from the rights of people, returning the right to its owner is added to these. If the sin committed against another person is of a nature that makes returning it difficult, he seeks their forgiveness, and if seeking forgiveness is difficult, he prays for them and gives charity on their behalf.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
