The ruling on a woman traveling during the waiting period

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A woman’s husband passed away while she was in Riyadh, and she has no one with her. Her brother resides in Makkah. Is it permissible for her to travel to him and perform the lesser pilgrimage with a mahram (a relative one may not marry)?

Answer:
If she is in danger and cannot remain, and has no one to keep her company, then there is no blame on her. However, if she has someone to keep her company and is not in danger—such as a maid, female friends, her husband’s mother, or someone who keeps her company and relieves her loneliness—then she is not permitted to travel until the waiting period ends. As for if she is not compelled, there is nothing wrong with it.
