Married to two wives: when he travels from one wife's home and returns, does he go back to the one he was with during the trip or the other?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says that he is married to two wives, and he asks: when he travels from one wife's home and returns, does he go back to the one he was with during his trip or the other? He seeks guidance on this matter.

The Shaykh : Justice requires that he return to the wife whose turn it was for the night when he traveled. For example, if the night he traveled was Zaynab's turn, and he had spent the previous night with 'A'ishah and not with Zaynab, then when he returns, his night should be with Zaynab. This is justice. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) warned against injustice in dealing with wives, saying:
When a man has two wives and he is inclined to one of them, he will come on the Day of resurrection with a side hanging down. من كان له زوجتان فمال إلى إحداهما جاء يوم القيامة وشقه مائل
Sunan Abi Dawud 2133Sahih (Al-Albani)
In fact, Allah the Exalted prohibited having multiple wives if a person fears injustice, saying:
But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one or those your right hand possesses. That is more suitable that you may not incline [to injustice].
[An-Nisa 4:3]
