The ruling on keeping the night of the fifteenth of Rajab awake in worship

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is your opinion regarding those who keep the night of the fifteenth of Rajab awake by reading hadith and the Qur'an together, men and women in one place?

Answer:
This has no basis; it is a religious innovation (bid'ah). It is not prescribed to keep the night of the middle of Rajab awake, nor the night of the middle of Sha'ban, nor any other night. There is no evidence for any of this. What is prescribed is keeping the nights of the last ten days of Ramadan awake. This is prescribed, and the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came with it: the last ten days of Ramadan. As for the first twenty days of Ramadan, he would pray and sleep. As for keeping a night of Rajab or Sha'ban or any other month awake, this has no basis.
