The ruling on fasting the twenty-seventh of Rajab and the middle of Sha'ban

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the virtue of fasting the twenty-seventh of Rajab and the night of the middle of Sha'ban? Is there a hadith from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) encouraging believers to fast on those days? And is the virtue of fasting the first three days of the month of Rajab, or Sha'ban, or Shawwal greater than their counterparts in the other months?

Answer:
This has no basis. Some scholars claim that the twenty-seventh of Rajab is the night of the Isra and Mi'raj, but this has no basis. The narrated hadith regarding this is not authentic. Therefore, it has no special status, and there is no special status for fasting three days from the beginning of Rajab, or from the beginning of Sha'ban, or from the beginning of Shawwal.
Fasting three days of every month is prescribed generally for all months. It is prescribed for the believer to fast three days of every month, with no difference between Rajab and other months. Likewise, the six days of Shawwal were also brought by the Shari'ah. They are not three days of Shawwal; rather, the three days are general for all months. As for specifying the fasting of the twenty-seventh of Rajab, or three days from its beginning, or the night of the middle of Sha'ban on its own, this has no basis. Unauthentic hadiths have been narrated regarding it. The hadiths about the night of the middle of Sha'ban are not authentic and are not relied upon.
