What is the meaning of the hadith, "Both hands of the Most Merciful are the right hand"?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
It is reported in the hadith:
Both hands of the Most Merciful are the right handوكلتا يدي الرحمن يمين
, and in another hadith:
And in His other hand is the scaleوبيده الأخرى الميزان
, and in Muslim:
That the other is named the leftإنَّ الأخرى تُسمَّى بالشمال
. Al-Bayhaqi criticized it, followed by Ibn Hajar, regarding the unique narration of 'Umar ibn Hamzah ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar of this wording, and Nafi' and Ibn Maqsam narrated it without it. So what is the meaning of the hadith? And if it is said that it is the right hand in terms of excellence, so that no deficiency is imagined in it due to its being named the left, would that be a figurative interpretation? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The hadith is established, and Muslim narrated it. Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him) sought out authentic hadiths. If some people criticized 'Umar ibn Hamzah, Muslim did not criticize him; rather, he narrated from him. Ibn Hibban authenticated him, and al-Hakim authenticated his narrations.
The point is that the hadith is fine. It is called the Left in name, but in terms of excellence it is the Right. This is why the authentic hadith states:
both of the Hands of my Lord are right, blessedكلتا يدي ربي يمين مباركة
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3367Hasan (Darussalam)
. Both are blessed Rights in honor and excellence. One is called the Right, as Allah the Exalted said:
and the heavens will be folded in His right handوَالسَّمَاوَاتُ مَطْوِيَّاتٌ بِيَمِينِهِ
[Surah al-Zumar: 67]. The other is called the Left, and it is a Right in excellence, blessing, and honor, even though it is called the Left. However, in terms of excellence and honor, it has what the Right has in terms of good fortune, goodness, blessing, and honor. There is no contradiction. The hadith
both of the Hands of my Lord are right, blessedكلتا يدي ربي يمين مباركة
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3367Hasan (Darussalam)
clarifies its excellence and honor, and that there is no deficiency in it. The naming of it as the Left does not indicate deficiency; rather, it is merely a name. Just as naming his hand a hand, his foot a foot, his eye, his hearing, and his sight, none of this entails likening or comparing Allah to creation. All of these are attributes befitting Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He), and all of them are complete, with no deficiency in them. They are befitting Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He), and He is not likened to His creation in them .
