Is the 'Id sacrifice better for the living or for the deceased, or are they the same?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is the 'Id sacrifice, O Shaykh, better for the living or for the deceased, and do they share in it equally?

Answer:
The 'Id sacrifice is a recommended practice (sunnah) on behalf of the living, the deceased, and his family members, both the living and the dead. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer the sacrifice on behalf of his family, both the living and the dead. He used to sacrifice two rams; one on behalf of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and the other on behalf of those from the Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) who affirmed the oneness of Allah. If a person offers the sacrifice on behalf of himself, his family, his parents, his wives, and his children, one animal is sufficient. If he offers more than that, there is no harm.

The presenter: May Allah reward you and bless you.
