What is the ruling on going out with the people of Tabligh?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: Go ahead.
The questioner : We know that hijrah in the path of Allah means ... What is your opinion regarding the matter of the people of da'wah who go out in the path of Allah with their wealth and their souls, in a moderate manner? May Allah reward you with good.
The Shaykh : This going out, which is called today "in the path of Allah," is a good example for my previous research. This going out was not from the practice of the righteous Salaf, and therefore it is not of the Sunnah in any way. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to send individuals from the scholars of the Companions, their jurists, their elders, and their seniors in Islam. He used to send these people to call people to Islam. As for people going out, and the most knowledgeable among them acknowledging that he is not a scholar and that he needs to learn, this going out in this manner and by this path was not from the practice of the Salaf or the Khalaf, because this going out occurred in this present age. Therefore, we advise our brothers to sit in the mosques and form circles to seek knowledge, especially the knowledge of the Book and the Sunnah, so that they may benefit from such admonition and know that righteous action is not that which Zayd or Bakr, or some scholars or righteous people, deem good. Rather, righteous action, as we mentioned to you at the beginning of this address and at its end, is that which conforms to the Sunnah with sincerity to Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). Otherwise, please proceed.
