Question:
Our brother is also asking about the interpretation of the saying of the Righteous One, Blessed and Exalted is He:
Say, "O People of the Scripture, come to a word that is equitable between us and you - that we will not worship except Allah and not associate anything with Him and not take one another as lords instead of Allah."
[Al Imran: 64]?

Answer:
This verse is great. Allah commanded His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to invite the People of the Book, who are the Jews and the Christians, to
wordكلمة
, which is the word of tawhid (the oneness of Allah), “There is no god but Allah,” along with the testimony that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
It is the sameسواء
That is: a separation between us and you; we and you are equal in it, all of us are equal in it, and it is obligatory upon all of us to worship Allah alone, without anything besides Him .
And it is obligatory upon us not to associate anything with Him; we do not associate with Him any idol, nor any prophet, nor any jinn, nor any tree, nor any stone, nor anything else.
and not take one another as lords instead of Allahولا يتخذ بعضنا بعضًا أربابًا من دون الله
[Ali 'Imran 3:64]
So it is not permissible for humans to take some of them as lords, nor for the jinn, nor for the angels, nor for anyone else. It is obligatory upon all of them to worship Allah alone, as He, the Exalted, said in another verse in Surat al-Imran:
Nor could he order you to take the angels and prophets as lords. Would he order you to disbelief after you had been Muslims?
[Al Imran: 80]. So it is not permissible for anyone to take a lord alongside Allah to worship, to call upon for aid, or to pray to, or to prostrate to, or the like of that.
Rather, all are the servants of Allah, and it is obligatory upon them to single out Allah for worship wherever they are, in supplication and fear, and hope and prayer and fasting, and slaughter and vows, and the like of that.
If they turn awayفإن تولوا
means: if these people, the Jews and the Christians, turn away and refuse to accept the truth, then say: “Bear witness,” meaning: say to them verbally and explicitly: “We are Muslims,” meaning: bear witness
We are Muslimsأنا مسلمون
and you are disbelievers: meaning: bear witness against us that we are Muslims, meaning: submissive to Allah, uniting Him in worship, honoring Him, and humbling ourselves to Him, worshipping Him alone without anything besides Him.
In contrast to you. Yes, Allah is the One to be sought for help.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
