What is the ruling on one who rebukes people but does not start with his family?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What guidance does Your Eminence offer to one who rebukes people but does not start with his home and family?

Answer:
This is, in any case, a grave danger. It is obligatory to start with oneself and one's family:
And enjoin prayer upon your family and be patient with itوَأْمُرْ أَهْلَكَ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَاصْطَبِرْ عَلَيْهَا
[Taha: 132]
O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fireيَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا
[Al-Tahrim: 6]. The sensible person starts with himself, striving for his own rectification, and the rectification of his family, relatives, and neighbors. This does not prevent him from expanding in good and enjoining good and forbidding evil for all people, but he must not neglect himself; so that he becomes a good example and a good role model for his family and others, for his family, his children, his brothers, and his household. He starts with them and cares for them; so that they all become a good example and a good role model in good and action.
