Ruling on Delaying Prayer Due to Fear or Other Reasons

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our sister is also asking and saying: Is it also permissible to delay the prayer due to fear and the inability to perform wudu'?

Answer:
Delaying it beyond its time is not permissible, but delaying it from the beginning of the time is fine. Likewise, it is fine for the sick person to delay the Zuhr prayer until 'Asr, and the Maghrib prayer until 'Isha', and the traveler is the same. However, delaying it beyond the time is not permissible, neither for the sick person nor for anyone else. But the sick person has the option to combine the Zuhr and 'Asr prayers, and the Maghrib and 'Isha' prayers, and the traveler is the same. So if the sick person delays the Zuhr prayer to be with the 'Asr, or the traveler delays the Zuhr to be with the 'Asr, there is no blame on him. But they do not have the right to delay them until the sun turns yellow, and they do not have the right to delay the 'Isha' prayer until after the middle of the night. Rather, it is obligatory for them to pray the two prayers in the time of one of them.
And if he is afraid, he prays according to his condition and according to his ability. Fear varies: if the fear is from his going out of his house to the mosque, he prays in the house. If the fear is from praying while standing, he prays sitting. If the fear is from praying while sitting, he prays on his side. So fear varies, and the time is not lost.

The presenter: So every fear is measured by its degree?

The Shaykh: According to its degree. Yes.

The presenter: According to its degree.

The Shaykh: According to its degree.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
