What is the meaning of the statement of Allah the Exalted: {So remind, for the reminder may benefit}?

Question:
A questioner says: Some of the exegetes, in their interpretation of the statement of Allah, Mighty and Majestic:
So remind, if the reminder should benefit;فَذَكِّرْ إِنْ نَفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَى
[Al-A'la: 9], mean: remind where the reminder is beneficial?

Answer:
This is not a condition; rather, it is a description of the majority, meaning: the gravity of the obligation and the necessity increase when people benefit from the reminder. It is only a command to remind, in the hope that they may benefit. For this reason, it came in other verses:
So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder.فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُذَكِّرٌ
[Al-Ghashiyah: 21],
And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers.وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ الذِّكْرَى تَنْفَعُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
[Adh-Dhariyat: 55].
So a person reminds, and the benefit is in the hand of Allah. But if the reminder is beneficial, the obligation becomes more severe, and the benefit becomes greater. If he sees that they are benefiting and gaining from it, the obligation upon him doubles, strengthens, and increases.
