Is it permissible to breastfeed an adult if there is a need?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is the story of the breastfeeding of Salim, the freed slave of Abu Hudhayfah, specific to him or to anyone whose situation was like Salim's? And is it permissible to breastfeed an adult, even if there is a need? We ask for a detailed explanation of this issue.

Answer:
The correct view is that it is not permissible to breastfeed an adult. This was specific to Salim, or it was abrogated; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Suckling applies only (to infants) during the first two years (of their life).لا رضاع إلا في الحولين
Bulugh al-Maram 8:198
There is no breastfeeding except what occurs before weaning. Breastfeeding is from the time of weaning. This is the correct view held by the majority of the scholars. The story of Salim was either abrogated, as a group of scholars said, or it was specific, as others said. The wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Umm Salim said, "We considered this to be specific to Salim," except for A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her).
