Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the meaning of his statement (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the Night of Decree, where he said:
I saw it and it was made to be forgottenرأيتها وأنسيتها
, what is its meaning?

Answer:
It means: it was made to be forgotten, it slipped from his mind. This is better than “I forgot it.” “It was made to be forgotten” is better than “I forgot it”; because being made to forget is from Shaytan, for a profound wisdom. But when they knew that it is in the last ten nights, and that it is not known when it occurs within the ten, they exerted themselves in all of the ten nights; so it became greater for their rewards and more for their good deeds.
Q: Is the Night of Decree fixed on the twenty-seventh night, or does it move?
A: There are hadiths regarding it indicating that the most likely night is the twenty-seventh, and that it moves among the odd-numbered nights.
