What is the evidence that letting the beard hang down is forbidden, just as letting the garment hang down is forbidden?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: Our Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Anyone else?

The questioner : What is the evidence that letting the garment hang down is like letting the beard hang down?

The Shaykh : What?

The questioner : Is it that just as letting the garment hang down is forbidden, letting the beard hang down is also forbidden?

The Shaykh : Because it is contrary to the practical Sunnah followed by the righteous Salaf. And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says:
And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers - We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination.
[An-Nisa 4:115]
. So letting the beard hang down and lengthening it, even if Allah (Mighty and Majestic) blessed him with it, such that it may drag on the ground, is contrary to the path of the believers.
