Does one who intentionally leaves off the prayer have to make it up?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Some scholars say that one who intentionally leaves off the prayer does not have to make it up, based on the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him):
He who did any act for which there is no sanction from our behalf, that is to be rejected.مَن عمل عملًا ليس عليه أمرنا فهو ردٌّ
Sahih Muslim 1718b
, so does the intentional leaving off of it apply to him, such that he does not pray?

Answer:
If we say that he committed disbelief, then he has no obligation to make it up. But if we say that he did not commit disbelief, then he has to make it up, because if one who slept through it has to make it up, then one who intentionally left it off is even more obligated to make it up. The majority of scholars hold that he has to make it up.
Q: What if he left off even just one obligatory prayer?
A: The apparent meaning of the hadith is general; if he intentionally left it off until the time for it passed.
