Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the difference between the supplication of worship and the supplication of asking?

Answer:
The supplication of worship: righteous deeds are called the supplication of worship. The prayers are the supplication of worship, fasting is the supplication of worship, charity is the supplication of worship, and glorification and the declaration of Allah’s oneness are the supplication of worship; because you are seeking the reward, you do this seeking the reward, this is the supplication of worship. The one who prays, the one who glorifies, the one who gives charity, the pilgrim, and the one performing the lesser pilgrimage, all of these are the supplication of worship. They only did this hoping for the reward of Allah, seeking the reward from Him.
And the supplication of asking is the request: O Allah, forgive me, O Allah, have mercy on me, O Allah, save me from the Fire, O Allah, admit me into Paradise. This is called the supplication of asking, an explicit request.
