Ruling on a woman who begins menstruating after the time for prayer has entered

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
If a woman begins menstruating after the time for prayer has entered, does she have to make up that prayer after her purification?

Answer:
There is a difference of opinion among the scholars on this. Some said: she must make it up. Some said: she does not make it up. And some said: if the time became narrow and she delayed, then she has been negligent, and she must make it up. But if the menstruation came during the time, or at the beginning of the time, and she was not negligent, then the most likely view is that she does not make it up, unless she was negligent, meaning she neglected the prayer and delayed it until the time became narrow. In that case, she must make it up in all circumstances.
As for if she was not negligent, but the menstruation came to her during the time, and she was not negligent, then the matter is broad in this case. If she makes it up, as some scholars said, there is nothing wrong with it. And if she does not make it up, there is no blame on her, if Allah wills, because she did not neglect it.
But if she becomes purified during the time, she must make it up in all circumstances. If she becomes purified during the time of 'Asr, she prays both Zuhr and 'Asr. If she becomes purified during the time of 'Isha', she prays both Maghrib and 'Isha'. Ibn 'Abbas and 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf, from among the Companions, and a group of other scholars issued a ruling to this effect, because she caught the time. So if she becomes purified during the time of 'Asr, she adds Zuhr to it, because they are two times that are like one time in the case of an excuse. Likewise, if she becomes purified during the time of 'Isha', she adds Maghrib to it and makes up both, because they are one time for one who has an excuse.
