The questioner : A woman suffers from excessive discharge, which causes her difficulties regarding frequent ablution, especially outside the home. Is it prescribed for her to pray Dhuhr and Asr with one ablution, and Maghrib and Isha with one ablution? And is it prescribed for her to combine prayers by bringing them forward or delaying them, with shortening or without a reason?
The Shaykh : These discharges that come out of a woman are natural discharges, but for some women they are constant, while for others they are not. If these discharges continue with a woman, then:
First, they are pure, because there is no evidence of their impurity. Women have been afflicted with this since the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and it is not reported that he (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) ordered them to wash this moisture.
Second: It is also not obligatory to perform ablution for it. If a person performs ablution for the first time after a state of ritual impurity, he remains in a state of purity, and there is no need to repeat the ablution for every prayer. If she performs ablution, that is better, but otherwise it is not obligatory for her; rather, she remains in her initial state of purity until it is broken by something that breaks it.
Based on this, if she performs ablution for the Dhuhr prayer and remains in her state of purity, and no other state of ritual impurity occurs from defecation, urination, passing wind, eating camel meat, or the like, then she prays Asr without ablution, because ablution for something that does not cease is of no benefit, even if she performs ablution, the thing remains.
This is the stronger opinion, which I have come to prefer finally, and it is not hidden what it contains of ease for women, as long as there is no clear, explicit text in this matter.
As for the hadith that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the woman with irregular bleeding to perform ablution for every prayer, the scholars of hadith differed on the authenticity of this wording: from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). Then, there is a possibility that the meaning is: perform ablution for every prayer without a full bath, meaning that a full bath is not obligatory for you, just as a full bath is obligatory for her if her natural cycle ends. Yes.
