The Ruling on Preserving the Qur'an on a Computer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Some scholars place the Qur'an on the computer, the electronic device, claiming to prove that the Qur'an is revealed from Allah. They say that everything in the Qur'an is divisible by the number nineteen. Is this practice valid, or is it mere nonsense?

Answer:
Preserving it on a computer is permissible, as is preserving authentic hadiths. This is part of preserving the Qur'an, so that if one wants to take from any place... the verses he wants to hear, and some people write them down, then these are verses that Allah has placed within this... If one takes care to record the Qur'an in a sound manner, free from mispronunciation or error, then there is no harm in it. Just as you record the Sunnah, you record the language, you record articles, and other beneficial sciences. There is no harm in that.
