Ruling on three-dimensional images of animals

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
In these days, three-dimensional images have become common on some buildings, including the image of a lion from the logo of Orient watches, north of this mosque, and others. What is the ruling on that?

Answer:
It is not permissible to make images, neither of dumb animals nor of human beings, neither on houses nor on things other than houses, such as doors and things like doors. Rather, it is obligatory to forbid this. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Spare no portrait unwiped outلا تدع صورة إلا طمستها
Riyad as-Salihin 1687
and he forbade images in the house, or making them. So it is not permissible to hang images on the walls, whether three-dimensional or not. It is obligatory to forbid this, and it is necessary that the authorities be informed of this evil. It is necessary that the authorities be informed, and we strive to remove this thing... We ask Allah to help everyone.
