An accident occurred that resulted in the death of some passengers; is an expiation required of him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The following message was sent by a brother from Dammam (Q. A. M.): It was the will of Allah the Exalted that I was involved in a car accident in which two of the passengers who were with me in the car were killed. It was established that the car that struck us was the one that made the mistake. My question is: Do I owe an expiation in the form of fasting or charity? The deceased were with me in the car. Please note that, as I mentioned, the accident was not the result of my mistake, and my only fault was that the deceased were with me in the car. If I do owe charity, please be kind enough to clarify its amount and method, because I feel a sense of guilt and I want your answer so that I may be clear about the matter. May Allah reward you with the best reward for the Muslim community, and thank you for your leniency after Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He.
Answer: First: The questioner’s statement, “It was the will of Allah,” is not correct. The correct thing to say is: “Allah the Exalted willed it.” Some people say, “It was the will of the decrees,” or “It was the will of the decree,” or “It was the will of Allah’s will.” All of these expressions are not good. It is obligatory to attribute such matters to Allah the Exalted, saying: “Allah, Exalted and Majestic is He, willed it,” or “The wisdom of Allah, Exalted and Majestic is He, necessitated such and such.”
Or, “Allah decreed upon me such and such.” As for what concerns your question, you owe nothing as long as the mistake was made by someone else and you were the wronged party. The expiation and the blood money are upon the one who made the mistake against you, as long as you adhered to the known, regulated road and did not speed, and it was the one who struck you who made the mistake. The sin is upon him, the expiation is upon him, and the blood money is upon him. As for you, you owe nothing if the matter is as you said. And success is from Allah.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good. Shaykh, is the traffic report considered in such situations?
The Shaykh: It is considered, yes, because they are responsible, and there is no other way. They are the ones relied upon in this matter. Yes.
