The ruling on the expiation of a driver who died with passengers in the car

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence the Shaykh, may Allah preserve you: If someone is involved in an accident and people die with him, without any negligence on his part, is fasting obligatory for him?
If the accident occurred without any negligence on the part of the driver, then he owes nothing; but I would like you to describe the accident to me, how it happened! The questioner: All its requirements and the car's needs were met, and there was no speeding.

The Shaykh: But how was it? How did it happen? The questioner: Do you mean: the traffic report? The Shaykh: What was its cause?! Let us leave the traffic report! The questioner: A person was exposed to it on the road, so the accident occurred without any fault on his part.

The Shaykh: Was he struck? The questioner: Yes, another car came out at him and the accident occurred.

The Shaykh: Okay! When the first car came out at him, did it come out in a situation where he could not avoid the accident, by coming out close to him?The questioner: It was very close.

The Shaykh: And the speed was normal? The questioner: Yes.
Normal.

The Shaykh: And he was unable to turn the car?The questioner: The speed was according to traffic regulations, and not exceeding the limit.

The Shaykh: And he was unable to turn the car?The questioner: He was unable to.

The Shaykh: Does that mean the car came out from a village? The questioner: From a village.

The Shaykh: He owes nothing for this; because he did not transgress and he did not act negligently.
