The question, O honorable Shaykh: Do I owe an expiation for the death of my colleague (may Allah have mercy on him)? Knowing that the report of the engineers and specialists in the traffic department ofal-Madinahcompletely cleared me of responsibility for the accident, and that I am not responsible for the accident, and that the percentage of fault is one hundred percent (100%) on the truck driver. I ask you to issue a ruling on what happened. I ask Allah not to show you anything disliked and to keep you for the service of the religion.
A: If the matter is as you described in the question, then you do not owe an expiation. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
