This message came from several people saying: To the honorable Shaykh who answers the questions of the honorable listeners, may Allah guide you. The questions we hope you will benefit us with are: First question: If a person misses an obligatory prayer, is it permissible to make up that obligatory prayer together with the next obligatory prayer? Is it permissible to pray the Fajr prayer after the sun has risen? Is it permissible to recite it quietly or aloud? Please inform us of this question. May Allah reward you with good. The sender is the listener Muhammad Abdullah Hasan Kireiri.
Answer: If a believer misses some of the prayers, whether due to sleep or forgetfulness, it is obligatory for him to hasten to make them up, and he must not delay them until another prayer. Rather, it is obligatory to hasten to make them up immediately, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): This is what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said. So it is obligatory to hasten to perform the prayer for which he slept or which he forgot. There is no time of prohibition for it. So if he forgets the Zuhr prayer and does not remember it until the 'Asr time, he should hasten and pray it, and then pray the 'Asr. And if he forgets the 'Asr and does not remember it until sunset, he should hasten. And likewise, if he forgets the Maghrib or the 'Isha' and then remembers it during the night, he should hasten and rush to do so, and not delay it until another prayer. Rather, this is obligatory upon him. He has no right to delay the prayer when he remembers it. He has no right to delay the Fajr prayer until after the sun has risen; it is not permissible, neither for men nor for women. Rather, it is obligatory that it be prayed in its time. The man prays it in congregation and goes out to the mosques, the houses of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), with the Muslims. And the woman prays it in her house in its time, before the sun. It is not permissible for any Muslim man or Muslim woman to delay the Fajr prayer until after the sun has risen, because the limit of the time is the rising of the sun. So when the sun rises, the time has passed. So it is not permissible for a Muslim, ever, to delay it until the sun rises, nor for a Muslim woman. Rather, this is from the deeds of the hypocrites, we seek refuge in Allah. And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says: [Maryam:59] meaning: a loss and destruction. And it was said that al-Ghay is a valley in Hellfire, whose bottom is far and whose taste is foul. We ask Allah for safety. Ibn Abbas said regarding this: "It is not intended that they left it, for if they had left it, they would have become disbelievers, but rather they delayed it from its time." So this warning is for the one who delays it from its time, we ask Allah for safety. As for the one who leaves it, he becomes a disbeliever. The one who leaves it entirely becomes a disbeliever by that, we seek refuge in Allah, as mentioned previously.
So the conclusion is that it is not permissible for any Muslim, nor for any Muslim woman, to delay the prayer from its time. Not the Fajr until the sun rises, nor the Zuhr until the time of 'Asr, nor the 'Asr until the time of Maghrib, nor until the sun turns yellow, nor the Maghrib until the twilight disappears, nor the 'Isha' until the middle of the night. Rather, it is obligatory that every prayer be prayed in its time. This is the obligation upon Muslim men and women. The man prays it in congregation with the Muslims, and he has no right to delay it from the congregation, nor to delay it from its time. And the woman must pray it in its time in her house, and she has no right to delay it from its time. And if sleep tends to overcome one in the Fajr, it should be that an alarm clock is set, and the time is confirmed, so that when the time comes, it alerts them to the time of prayer, because this is from the means that assist in good. And if he has someone who wakes him, praise be to Allah. So the conclusion is that it is obligatory upon the Muslim man and woman to take care of this matter. If they have someone who wakes them for the Fajr prayer, praise be to Allah. Otherwise, it is obligatory for them to have a clock with them to alert them to the time of prayer, so that the man gets up and prays with the Muslims, and so that the woman gets up and prays the prayer in its time. This is the obligation. And whatever assists in the obligatory, is itself obligatory. Yes.

So the conclusion is that it is not permissible for any Muslim, nor for any Muslim woman, to delay the prayer from its time.
