The Ruling on Illustrative Drawings in Food or Children’s Toys

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A message was received for the program from one of the female listeners, saying: My esteemed sister, the situation raises an issue that many people have likely witnessed. It is the making of children’s toys out of beans, rice, lentils, and other things from the blessings of Allah. These are also used to create visual aids, such as maps or other things, and then they are colored. Is that permissible? Also, if they are used in drawings, she seeks guidance from Your Eminence, the Shaykh?
Answer: What appears to me from this is that it is not permissible; because that is a matter that involves belittling these blessings, and it also involves wasting wealth without need. So it combines wasting wealth and belittling these blessings, which could be utilized for other things. This is the most apparent and closest view to me, and Allah knows best. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
