Ruling on praying behind one who claims affiliation with the Sufis?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
If I attend a village and its imam is from among the Sufis, and he does not clasp his hands in prayer, and he does not place his knees before his hands when going into prostration, is my prayer behind him permissible or not?
Answer: If he is a monotheist known for his tawhid (the oneness of Allah), and is not a mushrik (one who associates partners with Allah); rather, he has some ignorance or Sufism, but he is a monotheist Muslim who worships Allah alone, and does not worship the shaykhs (scholars or teachers) and call upon them besides Allah, like Shaykh 'Abd al-Qadir or others, but worships Allah alone, then merely the fact that he does not clasp his hands does not prevent [the validity of the prayer]. This is a recommended practice (sunnah), clasping the hands and placing the right hand over the left on the chest is recommended (mustahabb). So if one leaves them loose and lets them hang, there is no blame on him and his prayer is valid. A group of scholars said this, and it is the well-known view in the madhhab (school of jurisprudence) of Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) among his followers. However, the correct and prescribed (mashru') view is that he clasps them; this is the best, and this is the Sunnah: he places the right hand over the left, and puts them on his chest, with the right hand over the palm, wrist, and forearm of the left hand. This is the best, and this is what is preserved from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). It was narrated by Abu Dawud, al-Nasa'i, and others from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the hadith of Wa'il ibn Hujr. Similarly, a corroborating narration (shahid) came for it in Ahmad's (may Allah have mercy on him) Musnad, in the hadith of Qabisah ibn Hulb from his father:
That the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to place his hands on his chestأن النبي ﷺ كان يضع يديه على صدره
. So the point here is that this is the best. But if one lets them hang, there is no blame, and his prayer is valid. Similarly, if he places his knees before his hands, this is the best. Others said: he places his hands before his knees; due to what came regarding that in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah. The matter is broad in this regard, so it does not harm the prayer whether he places his knees first or his hands first. The matter is entirely broad, and the prayer is valid. But the best is that he places his knees first, then his hands; this is the best, and this is the relied-upon view. He places his knees, then his hands, then his forehead and nose. This is the best, and this is the relied-upon view in terms of evidence. And if he places his hands first, then his knees, there is no blame in that, and the prayer is valid, and praise be to Allah. There is no obstacle to praying behind one who does that. Yes.
