Ruling on a person in a state of wudu touching sanitary fixtures and bathroom tiles

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
This is a message we received from the listener Samia Musa from Jeddah. In fact, Sister Samia sent several questions in this message, and we may not be able to present them all. She says: There are many things that happen daily, and I do not know whether they invalidate the wudu or not. I will list them in points and ask you to clarify which ones invalidate the wudu and which do not. For example: touching the sanitary fixtures in the restrooms, standing barefoot on the tiles of the restroom, touching a child’s clothes wet with urine, touching or kissing one’s husband, and eating or drinking immediately after performing wudu and before prayer?
The Shaykh: Do not list too many... repeat, repeat, one by one.
The presenter: She asks: Do these things invalidate the wudu or not?
The Shaykh: The first one.
Touching the sanitary fixtures and bathroom tiles barefoot?
Answer: This does not invalidate the wudu. Touching sanitary items, sanitary fixtures, or tiles while barefoot, provided there is no ritual impurity, does not invalidate the wudu. If there is ritual impurity from urine, and a woman or a man steps on it, it does not harm him, but he must wash his foot. If he steps on it while in a state of purity and then goes to a pure place, he washes his foot, and praise be to Allah, and it does not harm him. Yes.
