The ruling on repenting from a sin and then returning to it again

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The question: The brother also asks in his long letter, saying: I commit a specific sin and repent to Allah with a sincere repentance, and I pledge to Allah that I will not return to such a sin, but then I return to it. Is my repentance valid or not?
The answer: Yes, if a man or a woman repents with a sincere repentance from a sin and then is afflicted by it again, the first repentance is valid if it was sincere and included its known conditions, which are: regret for the past, abandoning the sin, and the sincere resolve not to return to it. If it involved an injustice, returning it to its owner. In that case, he is not held accountable for the first sin because he repented from it, but he is held accountable for the second sin. And so, if he repents from the second sin with a sincere repentance and is then afflicted by it a third time, he is not held accountable for the first sin nor for the second sin, because he repented from both with a sincere repentance, and so on. This is how the Sunnah came from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding this. Yes... the Sunnah from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from the Lord, Mighty and Majestic. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah bless you and reward you with good.
