Ruling on Listening to the Nur 'ala al-Darb Program in the Mosque

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
In order to prevent worldly talk in the mosques, is it permissible for us to listen to the Nur 'ala al-Darb program instead of the empty talk of some of the worshippers?
Answer: Listening to this program contains great good and many benefits. Allah has made this program easy for the Muslims, and they benefit from it as a great scholarly session. Men and women benefit from it while in their homes, in their gatherings, and in their families. It is one of Allah’s great blessings, and it is an established proof against the people. This program is an established proof that reaches them in their homes, in their cars, in their airplanes, and in every place. It is obligatory for the Muslims to benefit from this program, and to praise and thank Allah for what He has made easy for them, Exalted and Glorified is He. People used to strive for knowledge from distant places to the mosques, and to the scholars in their homes, seeking knowledge. Perhaps a man would travel from a distant land to a scholar to seek a benefit from him. Jabir ibn 'Abdullah traveled to Sham for a single hadith, and others traveled to Egypt for a single hadith, and they were the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So you, O servant of Allah! And you, O handmaid of Allah! Allah has made this program easy for you through the airwaves, and you are in your homes, you are on your beds, you are in your mosques, in any place. This is a great blessing from Allah. So I advise and counsel every Muslim man and woman to benefit from this program, and to ask about whatever is difficult for him through this program. This is a great blessing from Allah that He has made easy for the Muslims. So I ask Allah to guide those in charge of this program to hit the truth, and to help them in conveying the message of Allah, His command and His prohibition, to the community in every place. And I ask Allah to guide the Muslims in every place to listen to this program and benefit from it. If something from it is difficult for someone and he hesitates about something, let him repeat the question, and ask the people of knowledge in any place until he is reassured. May Allah grant everyone success and guidance. Yes.
The presenter: A question from our brother, if you would be generous, Your Eminence the Shaykh, regarding listening to the program in the mosques?
The Shaykh: There is nothing wrong with opening the radio in the mosque to listen to this program, or to listen to knowledge other than this program; there is nothing wrong with it. If music comes on, or something that is not pleasing comes on, turn it off. Turn it off from what is not pleasing, and turn it on for the people of knowledge, the Qur'an, and the like.
The presenter: Good, good.
