How to Resolve Family Disputes

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
So, what problems arise in families? What should they be directed to adhere to? If you would be so kind?
Answer: All the problems that occur between families, if they are problems that do not contradict the texts and are merely ordinary matters among people, and their resolution is through their mutual agreement, there is no harm in that. Ordinary matters and common custom regarding food, drink, types of clothing, or the like are acceptable. However, as for a problem that has been clarified by a text from the Book of Allah or the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and which Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) or His Messenger has explained, no one has the right to say anything that contradicts the Shari'ah of Allah. Whoever says something contrary to the Shari'ah is not to be obeyed.
Obedience is in matters which are good and universally recognized.إنما الطاعة في المعروف
Sunan Abi Dawud 2625Sahih (Al-Albani)
This applies to cases such as exposing the body or displaying adornment in the markets, or standing in places of suspicion, or the like. The Shari'ah has issued rulings on all these matters. It is obligatory to adhere to the practice of the Shari'ah. It is not permissible for a woman to display her adornment among men, nor is it permissible for her to reveal her adornment, nor is it permissible for her to stand in places of suspicion. Likewise, a man is not allowed to stand in places of suspicion.
The point is that these are matters whose resolution lies in the Shari'ah, and the Shari'ah has clarified them. Therefore, it is obligatory to adhere to the Shari'ah. Yes.
