The Times Prohibited for Burial

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Are there times when burial is prohibited?

Answer: Yes, there are three times. It is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding three times, in the hadith of 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir in Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him). 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir said:
There are three times at which Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to forbid us to pray or bury our dead: (a) when the sun begins to rise till it is fully up, (b) when the sun is at its height at midday till it passes the meridian, and (c) when the sun draws near to setting till it sets.
Bulugh al-Maram 2:15
These three are: when the sun rises until it has risen the length of a spear, when it stands at midday just before the sun declines slightly before Dhuhr, and when it sets as it descends toward sunset, and its yellowing at sunset. In this state, one does not pray over the deceased nor bury him; one waits. Yes.
